Reflections



It has been amazing to read all of the comments about our Community Unity project so far. The song and video have served to create a catalyst for interaction and reflection on what makes our communities unique and special. As our project develops, we will be posting questions for further personal reflection to deepen our understanding of what community is all about. Thinking about all of your own interests and hobbies, family and friends...

    I live in a neighbourhood called St. James in Winnipeg, Manitoba and I love how everything is so close by and comfortable. There are beautiful trees and parks and I always feel safe.

    I live in a smaller community in East St Paul. I love that my kids can go outside and play with their friends and that all of my neighbours are friendly. It's a great community to be a part of!

    I live in a neighborhood called Wolseley in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I like all the little book stores and coffee shops in the area. I have friendly neighbors and feel safe when I walk down the street. Winnipeg is a nice community to live in!

    I live in a community called Brooklands in Winnipeg,MB i like living here because we have fun things to do. We have lots of trees and our own public swimming pool called Eldon Ross Pool with a BIG water slide. When i walk out my door i feel safe.

    i live in a community called Brooklands. sometimes it could be peaceful but some times there are police cars and sirens.There are lots of families and kids. It's awesome that we have commuinty centers to go to and parks to play at.

    I live in a neighbourhood called Brooklands in Winnipeg, Manitoba and i love how its quiet and everything is so close by. My favourite part of this community is that i can skate board to school at spring and summer.

    I live in Winnipeg, M.B. My community is called Brooklands. The best thing about the Brooklands community is that I have good friends and great classmates. It is fun but sometimes quiet and peaceful. It's a clean environment. I love the Brooklands community.

    I live in a community called Brooklands in Winnipeg MB.The best part is I have a police and ambulance office close by. I like my community because i know that my family cares and loves me.

    I used to live in the Philippines and now I live in a community called Brooklands in the city of Winnipeg,Manitoba and I love how people are so friendly and kind.I like it because its fun, peaceful and quiet. It is very clean and has fresh air. And I feel very safe.

    I live in Brooklands community of Winnipeg, Manitoba. I like living in the Brooklands community because it is peaceful and there is lots of parks. You can hear people laughing a lot and there is lots of trees. Brooklands is near Eldon Ross pool and there are lots of community centres and there is green hill and lots of cars. I love living in Winnipeg.

    I live in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba. I like living in the Brooklands community because it is a peaceful place to have fun. I like the store near the railway and some times i can go with my family to the store.

    My neighbourhood I live in is called Brooklands at Winnipeg, Manitoba and I really like where I live. There are evergreen trees that look beautiful. There also is a big play area. I used to live in the Philippines and it is very different there. They don't use the same buses there.

    I live in a community called Brooklands in Winnipeg, Manitoba, like living in the neighborhood of Brooklands because i always feel safe and i like the fresh air, beautiful trees, and seeing the families having fun. The things i don't like about the Brooklands community is the graffiti and all the gangs.

    live in a community called Brooklands in winnipeg, MB. I love winnipeg because it is peace full very very very fun!! I love our local swimming pool called Eldon Ross swimming pool. There are lots of restaurants and they make delicious food. I like how there are so much games and activities. There are people that show respect. I used to live in South America, in a place called Georgetown, Guyana. I like living here now.

    I live in a community called Eastbourne, East Sussex in the United Kingdom. I used to live in St. James, and my favourite part of living in St. James was all of the great activities you could participate in throughout the year. Watching the planes come and go was pretty cool too!

    My favourite thing about the community I live in now is being right on the sea. You can see ships, sail boats, beautiful white cliffs and amazing sunsets from the pier.

    I have been fortunate to do a lot of travelling in Europe and the one thing that always puts a smile on my face is when I see a Maple tree. Seeing the Maple leaf reminds me of Canada and my family and friends. Although I live in another country now, I am still very, very proud to be Canadian!!!

    I live in a community called River Heights, which is in Winnipeg. It is a quiet friendly community that is filled with parks, schools, playgrounds, trees and big old houses.

    Throughout the year, there are always lots of people out walking on the sidewalks - on the hottest summer days and the coldest, snowiest winter days! It seems like everyone I see walking in River Heights either has a baby or a dog (or both) :-)

    I love reading about all of the different communities that people live in... I hope more people from around the world will share what their communities are like!

    I must say, Tracey is pretty lucky to be able to see the sea in her community! Thanks for sharing, Tracey ;-)

    I live in a community called Brooklands in Wpg Manitoba. I like living in Brooklands because i can have fun in the neighbourhood with my friends.
    I feel safe when i go to the park with my friends and have fun. I LOVE OUR COMMUNITY :D

    I live in a community called brooklands its very peaceful here . There is a park here everyone is very happy playing on the play structure.

    I live in a community called Brooklands its in Winnipeg Manitoba. Its a nice quiet place to live in. When you need help neighbours are always there to help (well not always but mostly there) its a really cool community, im proud to live in Brooklands.

    I am from India and I love my community there. Sometimes I miss my old school and my family but I do like Brooklands community too, the people are friendly and understanding. I have alot of support. =)

    I live in Brooklands. I like going to school everyday because it is fun. My teachers and my classmates are all good to me. Every Wednesday, we go cross county skiing and I enjoy it a lot. We also have basketball teams. We practise in the gym and go to different schools to play with other students.

    I live in a wonderful community in Winnipeg called River Heights. I love that in the summer the trees arch over the street and create a tunnel of leaves. I love to walk my dog to the local parks and greet friendly people walking by. In the summer, I buy fruits and veggies at the local Farmer's Market. I love my community because it is HOME!

    This is an AWESOME community because All my friends live around me, and it is safe. I LOVE THE PLAYGROUND!!!! Omaagoosh! It's SOO COOL in Brooklands!!

    I used to live in the Philippines, but now I live in the Brooklands area in Winnipeg Manitoba. It's a great place with lots of nice, caring, understanding people. And compared to where I used to live It's a great place for my little siblings and i to have a great future ahead of us. I've met SO many great people that I'm proud to call my friends, I love the people around me. But, not everyone is as great as others, but I'll understand that there's a lot of other things happening in their lives, so I'll respect that. I'm proud/happy to be living in this Community.

    I use to live in the philippines now i live in the Brooklands area in Winnipeg Manitoba. There are nice people here, they care a lot about us and Canada is a great country to live in.

    At Brooklands school it is very safe and i like going to school because it's safe because teachers and police help us from the bad guys.

    I've lived in the St. James community for almost two years and I love that everything I need is accessible without having to go too far from home. Although St. James would not be considered a small neighbourhood, one cannot help but feel like they are part of a smaller, tight-knit community. It's like everyone is your neighbour, and that is a very welcoming feeling to experience! I love my community! :)

    The best part of my community is the Sam Waller Museum. It used to be the court house. A man named Sam Waller got the things in there!

    trappers is when you do competitions and activities like muskrat skinning,dog sleding,bannack baking,moose calling,goose calling and tea boiling.

    trappers is the best. we get to do fun competitions. theres dog sled race, tea boiling, muskrat skining, and flower packing. we also have two charaters. there names are billy bannock and lonesome mary. and mercer mayor was there.

    trappers festival is about people doing events.like you can do log throwing ice fishing of course you can win 500 hundred dollors for finding a ice worm.
