Music Project

As the school year is nearing an end, the grade five students at Kelsey Community School have been hard at work on music projects.  Their task was to do research on a favorite artist and their song and put together a video presentation. Since we are busy working on these projects, we would like to ask...

Who is your favorite artist and why?  What is your favorite song to listen to?

    My favourite band of all time is The Beatles. My parents were both fans of their music and I grew up listening to them. I became a musician and songwriter myself and often try and imitate their sound and style. I have many songs that I love by them, but one that stands out is Across the Universe. It has that Eastern feel to it and it just makes me feel good. Music is very important to me. In fact, it is the way I understand the world. I can relate most of my life experiences with a soundtrack of music. I walk in rhythm and am always putting my thoughts and ideas to paper for possible future song lyrics. Music helps me cope and understand the world around me.

    My favorite Singer/song artist. is Taylor Swift because she's the only person who didn't let fame get to her, she's so Down to Earth and she's the only one who hasn't changed since she started in the music industry. She's so nice to everyone and generous. And she actually sings about how people feel and not about partying and drugs and stupid stuff. She's a great person. I don't really like country but I like her type of songs. She's a beautiful person inside and out, and she doesn't let people get to her. And I look up to her.

    I also like Bruno Mars because his songs are great and catchy, he's also a great person and I listen to his songs mostly all the time.
